HYEONGUK SHIN
Hyeonguk Shin(b. 1938) focus on the attributes of nature, which is an essence of his life and art. He paints essential inner value of transparent nature. The sense of not only various formations of nature accorded with our sentiment but also the inclination of metaphoric monochrom carrying the force to move nature. It is a phenomena as well as a spirit of nature that generates from the formative act itself resulting from the artist's experiences and contemplations of nature. The works look like abstract but feels non-abstract; they contain quizzicality that seems to spread out new dimensional mountain shapes. Redoubtable colors, forms, and lights and darkness are mingled together, and unconsciously revealed figurations and images are added at regular intervals, which are unfolded like color separation. Meditation are aesthetic correspondent power that is formulated in his inner being through conscious & unconscious contemplation on the true nature, and the works are condensation of formative cohesiveness.
